binutils-avr software package provides Binary utilities supporting Atmels AVR targets, you can install in your Debian 8 (Jessie) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install binutils-avr
binutils-avr is installed in your system.
Make ensure the binutils-avr package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep binutils-avr *
You will get with binutils-avr package name, version, architecture and description in a table
